Thank you to all of the artists who submitted work to our first juried photography show, UPSHOT! And, a special thank you to our juror, Juliette Cook. 

Juliette is currently a Trustee and Treasurer of the Penn Treaty SSD, a foundation serving the civic and cultural needs of the Philadelphia riverwards neighborhoods, and is the Development Director for InLiquid, a non-profit arts organization serving artists and audiences in Philadelphia. She has worked closely with contemporary artists throughout her career, advocating for their creative practices from various roles within museums, art centers, and foundations. She has written press and public statements for William Kentridge, Takashi Murakami, and many other internationally recognized artists while MoMA P.S.1. She has developed project proposals for Hank Willis Thomas and Zanele Muholi while at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center. Earlier in her career, at the Philadelphia Art Alliance, she organized exhibitions of work by dozens of artists, many of whom have gone on to great acclaim, including Mierle Leiderman Ukeles, Virgil Marti, Gabriel Martinez, and many others.

After careful consideration, Juliette observed various themes emerge from the entries, and the accepted artists and works are as follows:
